RHODES Passed Away at Her Home at an Early Hour Today This morning at three o'clock. Mrs. Margaret J. Rhodes, of 850 West Seventeenth Street, Tyrone, passed into the eternal life, after several months' illness with a complication of diseases. Deceased was born on August 28, 1850, at Greenwood, Huntingdon County, the daughter of John and Anna Rhodes. A good portion of her life was spent at Pennsylvania Furnace and since 1889, she had resided in Tyrone. Mrs. Rhodes was united in marriage at Rebecca Furnace, July 3, 1866, with William Rhodes, who preceded her to the grave sixteen years ago. Deceased was a devoted member of the Columbia Avenue Methodist Episcopal church. When in health and strength, she found much pleasure in assisting with those things pertaining to the upbuilding of Christ's Kingdom. Surviving to mourn her death are these children: Martin Z. and Arnold R. of Altoona; Stansbury, Lowery, Edward and Mrs. Lucinda Calderwood, of Tyrone. Two sisters also survive namely: Mrs. Anna Bennett, Altoona and Mrs. Elizabeth Hull, of Tyrone. Funeral services will be conducted at the home on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Reverend John E. Beard. Interment will be made in the family plot in Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone. Tyrone Daily Herald, December 16, 1919
