Rhodes, aged 64 years, 3 months and 1 day. The funeral will take place to-morrow (Friday) afternoon, at 2 1/2 o'clock. Mr. Rhodes was among the first settlers of this city, and in the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company almost since its construction over the mountain. For many years he was night watchman about the shops, and only a few months ago was transferred to a daylight position. On the 28th of May last, Mr. Rhodes met with a severe accident. He was drawing a "bull wagon" laden with iron at the shops, when he was thrown, by the violent motion of the tiller, heavily to the ground, fracturing a bone in the right leg above the ankle. From this accident he was slowly recovering, when a few days ago he was seized with malignant dysentery, which terminated his existence. He was a very industrious man, a quiet, good neighbor, and we shall miss his wonted kindly greeting as he passed to and from his work. Peace to his ashes.
