Rhodes, of Wehnwood, died of cancerous tumor, yesterday morning at 7.30 o'clock in the Altoona hospital. The deceased was admitted to the hospital last December with a broken limb, an injury from which she never recovered, and since the birth of her baby seven' weeks ago her decline was rapid. Mrs. Rhodes was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Gibson, of Wehnwood, and was born November 28, 1891. Five years ago she became the wife of Elwood Rhodes, a young man of Juniata, and to this union were born three children who with him survive: Harry Merl, Elwood Ardel and James Clair, all at home. Also surviving are the parents of the deceased and the following brothers and sisters: Myrtle, Edna, Violet, Merl, Adie, Tollivar and Maynard, all at home in Wehnwood. Mrs. Rhodes was a consistent member of the First Baptist church of this city and service over her remains will be conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Clayton Grinnell. The service will be held at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon in the home of Mr. Rhodes', parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rhodes, of 700 Seventh avenue, Juniata and will be followed by interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday, April 9, 1915, page 12
