OBITUARY.

Annie Rice died at her home near Sharpsburg on the evening of the 9th
of January.  Annie was a daughter of J. B. and Mary Rice, aged 10
years, 8 months and 25 days.  Annie was not permitted to remain long
in this world of sorrow and trouble.  She was soon summoned to a
higher life.  Her illness which terminated her life so suddenly was
diphtheria.  We deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in their
affliction.  The funeral was largely attended.  Rev. S. M. Wolfe, of
Martinsburg, preached a very impressive funeral sermon in the Reformed
church at Sharpsburg.
