Leaving the house at this hour the services will be held in the Enterprise Brethren church and interment will be made in the cemetery at that point. Rev. A. G. Crosswhite, of Roaring Spring, will officiate. Mrs. Rice's death was due to diseases incident to her advanced age. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday Morning, April 23, 1918 RICE. Mrs. Barbara H. Rice died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. I. B. Berkheimer, at Roaring Spring, on Saturday evening. She had been in ill health for the past three months, suffering from a complication of diseases incident to old age. Mrs. Rice was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hinkle and was born in Bedford county Aug. 30, 1838. She grew to girlhood there and was united in marriage to Abram E. Rice, living in New Enterprise until after the death of her husband eighteen years ago. Then she went to Roaring Spring where she had resided ever since. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren. Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. I. B. Berkheimer, Mrs. A. R. Miller of Roaring Spring, Mrs. J. L. Lyons and Miss Cora, of Altoona; Mrs. Samuel Snowberger of New Enterprise; also three grandsons: Harry Replogle of Sand Point, Idaho, Harry Snowberger of New Enterprise and Ross Berkheimer of Roaring Spring, and one brother, Christian Hinkle of Baker's Summit. Today at 1 p.m. Rev. A. G. Crosswhite of the Church of the Brethren, will conduct brief funeral services at the Berkheimer home, after which the cortege will leave for New Enterprise, where funeral services will be held at 2.30 in the Church of the Brethren. Interment at New Enterprise.
