All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ Joseph Riegel, An aged resident of this city, died at his home, 221 Fourth avenue, at 7:25 o'clock this morning, his death being the result of general debility. Deceased was born in Lebanon county, September 22, 1819, and was, therefore, over seventy-three years of age. He served the entire four years during the war, being a member of Company E, 45th Regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers, and was a comrade of Post. 468, G.A.R., of this city. Deceased has been a resident of this city for the past twelve years and up to about a week ago worked in the P.R.R. blacksmith shop. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist church and is well spoken of by those who have known him. One daughter, Mrs. Annie E. Milton, who has been his housekeeper, is his only living child. The funeral services will take place on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday Evening, March 21, 1893
