Rigg died yesterday morning at 5.30 o'clock at his home, 1017 Twenty-first avenue after an illness which dated back to Sept. 23, from paresis. He was aged 36 years and was one of the widest known musicians in the city and previous to his affliction played with the Jaffa, the Altoona City and Municipal bands, being one of the leading cornetists in the city. He was a native of England where he was born on Aug. 10, 1882, and came to this country in June, 1905. He was the son of George and Elizabeth Riggs [sic], both residing in England and was married in Altoona on Aug. 19, 1908, to Miss Florence Hamilton. Surviving are the parents in England, the wife, who resides at 1017 Twenty-first avenue, and four children, G. Hamilton, Marion E., Ruth H. and Rose Eleanor, all at home, and three sisters and five brothers in England. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the F.O.E. He was employed for twelve years in the Pennsy shops as a machinist. For eighteen months he resided at Sunbury, working in the auto repair shops. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon from the residence. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday, December 13, 1918
