RILEY Mrs. Riley, 73, of Martinsburg RD 2, formerly of Roaring Spring, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 1983, in Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, after an extended illness. She was born July 21, 1909, in Martinsburg, the daughter of Webster and Eugenia (Smouse) Colbert, and May 12, 1925, married William H. Riley, who died Sept. 3, 1974. Surviving are 10 children: William H. Jr. and Mrs. Lois Phillips of Altoona, Mrs. Jeanne Johnson of Harrisburg, Max of Lancaster, Mrs. Mary Jane Smith of Martinsburg, Robert L., Chester D., and Mrs. Doris Brubaker of Roaring Spring, Staff Sgt. John A. of Fort Campbell, Ky., and James K. of East Freedom; 25 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Homer of Johnstown, Edgar of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Viola Benner of Martinsburg. Mrs. Riley was a member of Grace Brethren Church, Martinsburg, where she belonged to the Rose Circle Sunday School class. She was a member of the Murray-Appleman American Legion Post Auxiliary, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. RILEY - Services for Helen C. Riley of Martinsburg RD 2 will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Grace Brethren Church, Martinsburg, by the Rev. William Snell. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
