Death of Ex-Chief of Police Riley.

Ex-Chief of Police Thaddeus S. Riley died at his residence on Eighth 
avenue between Thirteenth and Fourteenth streets, at 1 o'clock Friday 
morning, after a lingering illness of consumption, aged 41 years, 11 
months and 4 days. Mr. Riley was chosen Chief of Police by Mayor 
Gilland on his first election. He was a coach-builder by occupation, 
and, we believe, a native of Greencastle, Franklin county, where his 
remains were taken Saturday morning for interment.
