On eastern express on Saturday night the remains of Mr. William Ritchey were brought to this city and taken to the residence of his son Elwood, Tenth street and First avenue. Mr. Ritchey was a former resident of Altoona and was a carpenter by trade. Recently he had lived in Pittsburgh and in that city was taken sick and suffered several paralytic strokes. He was stricken a third time on Friday last and death shortly after resulted. The deceased was aged 64 years and was a widower, his wife having died several years ago. He leaves three sons and two daughters, these being: Calvin, who is married and lives in Omaha, Neb.; Elwood, married, and a resident of this city; William and Frank, who reside in Pittsburgh; Miss Annie, of Pittsburgh, and Miss Maggie, of this city. The children who make their home in Pittsburgh accompanied the remains to this city. Mr. Ritchey also leaves one brother and three sisters to mourn his death. They are Joseph Ritchey, of Pattonsville, Bedford county; Mrs. Sill, of Bedford, and Mrs. John Forney and Mrs. James Reed, of Altoona. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., March 18, 1886
