Andrew Robeson, a prominent citizen and well known and active farmer, died at his home, where he had resided since 1859, in Sinking Valley, on Sunday evening at 7.20 o'clock, of cancer, of which he had been a patient, but severe sufferer for a year or so past. The deceased was a son of David and Susan Robeson, early pioneers of this section, and was born at the Foot of Ten, Allegheny township, this, then Huntingdon county, February 22, 1830, and at death was aged 69 years and 8 months. Mr. Robeson was an active and consistent member of the Presbyterian church at Birmingham, and for many years on the official board as deacon and trustee of that church. In politics an ardent republican; although never a seeker after office, he has filled well and acceptably the position of school director, tax collector and supervisor in Tyrone township. He will be sadly missed as a neighbor and friendly advisor and greatly in the home family circle. He is survived by his aged partner, Mrs. Margaret Robeson, and the following children, viz: Mrs. Florence L., wife of J. Woods Smith, of Sinking Valley; Wilbur O., Charles Albert and Miss Anna M. Robeson, at home. He is also survived by one sister and one brother, Mrs. Juniata Loudon, of Altoona, and Samuel Robeson, of near Hollidaysburg, and two half brothers, Robert and Horace Robeson, of Altoona. Funeral services will be held at his late home in Sinking Valley to-morrow at 10 o'clock, to be conducted by his pastor, Rev. H. H. Henry, assisted by Rev. J. R. Shipe. Interment to follow in the Birmingham cemetery. Morning Tribune, Tuesday, October 24, 1899
