After a short but painful illness, borne with Christian resignation, James Robinson passed to his reward at twenty minutes of 10 o'clock Wednesday evening, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Robinson, of 3107 Walnut avenue, Millville. The deceased was aged 78 years and 22 days, having been born in Chester county on February 17, 1812. For the past twenty-five years he had been a resident of Blair county. Seven children survive him, his wife having died twenty-three years ago. The children are: Mrs. Charles Deterline, of Hartford, Montgomery county; Mrs. Wilson Powell, of Chester, Delaware county; Mrs. Albert Houp and Mrs. Sylvester Butler, of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Winfield Friling and Mrs. Joseph Robinson, of Altoona. One son, Jonathan Robinson, lives in Hollidaysburg. He was a member of the Simpson Methodist Episcopal church and enjoyed the conversations of Christian friends during his illness. It was with joy, not sorrow, that he looked forward to the time of his departure, for he realized the blessed change from suffering to everlasting happiness. Almost the last words he spoke were addressed to his youngest daughter, whom he called to him and told her that he was dying and was going home. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Robinson, 3107 Walnut avenue. Owing to the absence, at conference, of his pastor, Rev. E. J. Metzler, of the Millville Lutheran church, will preach the funeral sermon. He will be assisted by Rev. Samuel Lower. The interment will be made in Carson Valley cemetery.
