Funeral services for the late Mrs. Susanna Margaret Robinson of Hollidaysburg will be conducted at the residence of her grandson, Ernest Robinson of 518 Blair street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Geeseytown cemetery. The aged lady, who was in the 95th year of her age, had returned from a visit with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Schell of Pittsburgh, on June 22. She was taken ill last Wednesday, being in the best of health prior to that time. Although advanced in years her demise proved a profound shock to all who knew and loved the amiable old soul. Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of Jacob and Ruth Wertz, and was born on a farm in Blair township, near Loop Station, having been a resident of Hollidaysburg and vicinity all her life. During the past several years it was her custom to spend the winter months with her daughter in Pittsburgh, while in summer she visited relatives at and near Hollidaysburg. She was a most remarkable old lady in many respects, retaining the full use of all her mental faculties all her life. She enjoyed reading and kept abreast of the times by reading the daily newspapers, taking the keenest interest in all affairs of latest moment. Her eyesight was excellent and her memory was remarkable. About a year ago, after a hard day's work in baking bread, she retired and the following morning was up bright and early, leaving unaccompanied for Pittsburgh, where she visited her daughter. It was not her custom to sit about the house and watch others perform the work. She was a tireless worker herself and took an active part in household duties, notwithstanding her advanced years. One of her pleasures while on the farm was to hunt eggs, as she did when a girl. Mrs. Robinson was a woman of noble character, high minded and well informed upon many subjects. She was a pleasing conversationalist and had a very amiable disposition, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of her friendship or acquaintanceship. She was an excellent Christian woman in all the term implies and was a consistent member of the Lutheran church. In 1843 she was united in marriage to Abraham Robinson, a prominent farmer and Civil war veteran, who died in 1875. She was the last of her family, though survived by two children, Mrs. John W. Schell of Pittsburgh and Samuel Robinson of Altoona, thirty-two grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. All of her brothers and sister preceded her to the grave. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., July 2, 1919 Note: Mrs. Orlando Traugh was Susanna's grand-daughter, Mary E. (Robison) Traugh. Also, Susanna's married name was Robison, not Robinson.
