All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ WILLIAM RODENIZER Died at 8:30 Saturday evening at the home of his son, Edward, 420 Eighth avenue, the result of a stroke of paralysis which he sustained Saturday morning. Six years ago he was stricken for the first time, the fatal stroke Saturday being the fourth. He was born in Pennsylvania Furnace, October 9, 1831, and had resided in this city for the past thirty-five years, being employed for twenty-three years previous to his illness in the freight shop. In November, 1864, he enlisted at Hollidaysburg in the Eighty-second regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, under Captain John F. Reems, and was in active service in the army for one year. These children survive: William of Butler, Pa.; Mrs. Carrie Messenger of Johnstown, James of Glassport and Edward at whose home he died. One sister, Mrs. Mary Gibson of Duncansville and one brother John of Wisconsin, also survive. He was a member of the Second United Brethren church. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services at the house. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., February 12, 1906
