Death's Doings.

At 9 30 o'clock Friday morning Mrs. Lizzie B. Rodger, wife of James B.
Rodger, died at her husband's residence, corner of Fourth avenue and
Twelfth street.  About five weeks ago she gave birth to a child which
is still hearty and well, but she never recovered and died from fever,
leaving two children, the oldest a boy aged 3 years.  She was aged 32
years, 7 months and 13 days.  Her mother, Mrs. Fannie Barnhart, lives
at Claysburg, and two sisters and a brother reside at the same place.
The deceased was a most excellent Christian lady, a kind neighbor, an
affectionate wife and mother, and her death is a great calamity to her
family and friends.  She was a consistent member of the Second
Lutheran church.

ECHOES FROM CLAYSBURG.

We are sorry to hear of the death of our esteemed friend, Mrs. Lizzie
Rodger, of your city.  She had been a resident of this place for over
twenty-five years.  Her mother, Mrs. Fannie Barnhart, a brother and
two sisters reside here at present.  The deceased was known by her
many friends to be a lady possessing most excellent qualities.  She
was united with the Lutheran church of this place while very young;
during her extended pilgrimage she evinced and adorned her Christian
profession by a godly walk and conversation.  She lived the life of
the faithful and died the death of the righteous.  Her death is a
great calamity to her many friends.
