Rodkey, of 122 Stewart street, Lakemont Terrace, died suddenly at 5 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, being stricken with a hemorrhage of the throat. Mr. Rodkey has been a sufferer from throat trouble and asthma. He arose at 4:30 o'clock and was preparing to come to work in this city, when he fell to the floor and expired before a physician could arrive. He was born in Frankstown, March 20, 1868, the son of John H. Rodkey, of Frankstown, and Mrs. Mary Ann (Mundorff) Rodkey, deceased. He had resided in Blair county all his life and had been for twenty years a resident of this city. He was employed in the air brake shop of the Pennsylvania company, in this city, and was a member of Ben Davis lodge of Odd Fellows. He is survived by his father, aged 85; his widow, and the following brothers and sisters: W. E. Rodkey, of Altoona; John T. Rodkey, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. George Smith, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. William Clapper, of Llyswen; Mrs. Ezra Martin, of Frankford, Philadelphia, and George M. Rodkey, who resides in the west. The funeral will be held with services at the late home at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, followed by interment in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, November 24, 1916
