ROGERS Of 2635 Pleasant Valley Blvd., well known in business and military circles in Altoona, died unexpectedly at 11:55 p.m. yesterday at his home following a heart attack. Mr. Rogers was born in Johnstown May 1, 1909, a son of William and Junia (Mangus) Rogers, and was married to the former Miss Betty Schade of Altoona. Surviving are his wife, his step-mother, Mrs. Kathryn Rogers of Altoona; two sisters, Mrs. Thelda VanMeter of Whitney, Ont., Can., and Mrs. Norma MacLean of Birmingham, Mich., and a brother, Luke S. of Rome, N.Y. Mr. Rogers was owner of the Will Rogers Company in Altoona, vice president of the Altoona Council of the Navy League, commandant of the U.S.S. Blair Sea Cadet Unit in Altoona, sponsored by the Navy League, vice president of Penn Lanes, Inc., a director of the Blair County Chapter, Pennsylvania Association of the Blind, Inc., and a veteran of World War II, serving as an officer in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Rogers was of the Protestant faith. Friends will be received in the Stevens Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
