RODGERS A retired machinist, long in the Pennsylvania Railroad service in the Altoona works shops, died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at his home at 2116 Beale Avenue. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Rogers was born in Philadelphia on November 10, 1866, a son of William H. and Marie (DuWell) Rogers and in young manhood he came to Altoona and entered the railroad service. He was employed in No. 2 machine shop at Twelfth Street and retired 14 years ago after the fire which destroyed the big shop building. He was married to Miss Lyda Lowe on Jan. 18, 1893. She died 31 years ago. The surviving children are Miss Helen Rogers, at home, William B. of San Francisco, Calif., Francis of New York and Thomas and Paul of Altoona, There are four grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church and of the Holy Name Society. Mr. Rogers reposes at the V. L. Stevens funeral home where friends are being received. ROGERS - The funeral of William J. Rogers will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock with mass of requiem in Our Lady of Lourdes church. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery. Friends are being received at the V. L.
