Mrs. Martha Jane Rose, wife of Aaron W. Rose, died at the home of her daughter, Ida R. Rogers, in the Rupert apartments, Union avenue, at 11:45 o'clock Saturday morning. Mrs. Rose fell on October 2, 1918 and broke her right hip. Since that time she has been unable to leave her room and the injury, with her advanced age, was responsible for her death. She was born in the state of Indiana, December 15, 1839. Surviving are her husband and daughter, Mrs. Rogers, and one son, Frank H. Rose, of Bloomington, Ind. She was a member of the Christian church. The body was taken to Bloomington at 5:15 o'clock last evening and the funeral will be held at that place. Altoona Tribune, Monday, March 3, 1919, page 4
