SAMUEL ROSEBERRY. A Splendid Sinking Valley Lady Passed Away Saturday. Mrs. Samuel Roseberry passed out of life at 5 o’clock Saturday evening from her home near Arch Spring. The deceased, whose maiden name was Hazeldean Armstrong, was born in April, 1855, near Shaver’s Creek. She resided there until her marriage forty years ago to Samuel Roseberry, when she came to the Sinking Valley farm where she spent the remainder of her life. Of her immediate family, her husband preceded her to the spirit world by only two days, his last sickness having been induced by anxiety over his wife’s long continued and serious illness. Mrs. Roseberry is survived by two children – Myrtle, of Clearfield; and Edgar, at home. One brother, Leonard Armstrong, lives at Petersburg. She had been suffering from a complication of diseases for ten weeks when the end came at 5 o’clock Saturday evening. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church, and the funeral services at the home at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Walter K. Harnish, of Arch Spring. Interment was made in the Arch Spring cemetery. Of Mrs. Roseberry can be written the incomparable tribute that she was a devoted wife and mother, a good christian, a faithful friend and a kind neighbor – one whose passing is a sad loss to the community that knew her. Peculiarly touching and beautiful is the fact that the devoted partners of forty year journeying should have gone out of life almost hand in hand. They were lovely and pleasant in their lives and in their death they were not divided. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
