About 6 o'clock last night James Ross died at his home, 1601 Third avenue, of pneumonia, after an illness of about ten days. The deceased was born in 1833 and leaves a wife and daughter to mourn their loss. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian church and also of Mystic castle No. 27, Ancient Order Knights of the Mystic Chain, and Altoona council No. 15, Order of Chosen Friends. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, and the services will be held at the house. They will be private except as to the secret societies to which he belonged.
