ROSS Died this morning at 8 o'clock at his home, 517 Tenth avenue, Juniata, after an illness of several months. He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad company service as a yard brakeman on March 10, 1942. Mr. Ross was born on May 16, 1887, at Marysville, Pa., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ross, and married Miss Edith Flickinger, who died in 1925. Survivors include three sons and five daughters, Charles of Alexandria, Elwood of Kilkinsburg [sic], William of Brushton, Pa., Mrs. Lawrence Kennedy of Wilkinsburg, Mrs. Margaret Burkey of Eatontown, N.J., Mrs. Catherine O'Leary, at home, Miss Hattie Ross, registered nurse of New York city, and Mrs. Raymond Lynch of New York city; also 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Three grandchildren, Robert, Betty and Eleanor O'Leary, were reared in the Ross home. A brother, David Ross of Goldsboro, Pa., also survives. Mr. Ross was a member of the Grace Evangelical church of Juniata, the Bellevue lodge of I.O.O.F. of Juniata, B. of R.T. No. 174, and the Pennsylvania railroad relief. Friends may call at the Mauk & Yates funeral home after 6 o'clock Saturday evening. ROSS - Funeral services for Samuel E. Ross of 517 Tenth avenue, Juniata, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mauk and Yates funeral home by Rev. Bachman of the Juniata Grace Evangelical church.
