ROSSMAN Mrs. Mildred Rowe Rossman, Tipton, died Saturday at 10:52 p.m. at Tyrone Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was admitted at the Hospital on Friday morning. She was born Aug. 12, 1902, at Mount Carmel, a daughter of Henry W. and Lilly Alvard Rowe. She was married on June 26, 1926, at Altoona, to Gurney H. Rossman. She was a lifelong resident of this area. Surviving are the husband, three daughters, Mrs. Robert W.(Charlotte) Bathurst, of Williamsburg, Va.; Mrs. Charles C. (Romayne) Hoover, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. John H. (Alice) Murray, of Tyrone; an aunt, Miss Edna M. Rowe, of Mount Carmel. Also surviving are ten grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Hiltner Sunday School Class, the Chapel Volunteers missionary society, the Tyrone Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; Jordan White Shrine of Altoona; and was a member of the Advisory Board of Charomali Assembly 114, Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was responsible for the founding of the Charomali Assembly in Tyrone and in honor of her efforts, the Tyrone assembly was named for her three daughters. She taught Sunday School in her church for nearly 30 years. She was a graduate of Altoona High School and Altoona Business College. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Feller Memorial Funeral Home, the Rev. Richard K. Giffen and the Rev. Jack A. Park officiating. Burial will be in Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home today, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from noon until the time of service.
