Samuel Rothert, only brother of Oliver Rothert, the well known furniture dealer of this city, died at 12:15 this morning of paralysis, at his home, 1820 North Broadway, Baltimore, Md. He was taken sick last November with nervous prostration, which developed five weeks ago into paralysis. The deceased was born in Baltimore, August 16, 1876. Ten years ago he came to Altoona with his brother, Oliver, and they opened a furniture store in the Phoenix block. He remained in business here for four years, when he went to York, Pa., and opened up a store for himself. Four years ago he opened up another furniture store in Harrisburg and was the owner of two stores when he died. Mr. Rothert was a business man and was possessor of a genial disposition that made him many friends during his stay in Altoona. He is survived by his wife, Anna M., and two daughters, Doris and Virginia, aged 7 and 2 years, respectively; also by his mother, Mrs. Isabel Rothert of Baltimore, and one brother and one sister, Oliver of this city and Mrs. Neva Nickolas of Baltimore. Mr. Rothert was a member of the Elks, a thirty-second degree Mason and belonged to the Shriners. The funeral will take place from his late residence in Baltimore and the interment will be made in that city. Mr. Oliver Rothert and wife left on limited express at 10 o'clock this morning to attend the funeral. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, April 4, 1907 LATE NEWS PARAGRAPHED. The funeral of Samuel Rothert took place from his late home, 1820 Broadway, Baltimore, at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon. B.P.O.E.
