The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, April 30, 1873 DEATH OF ADOLPH ROUSH. On last Sunday evening Adolph Roush, Esq., passed away. Through his physicians we are informed that he died of pneumonia. Some two weeks previous to his death he had taken atrophia - a deadly poison - which caused physical prostration, but up to within a few days of his death he was rapidly recovering, when he was attacked with pneumonia. That he took the poisonous drug with the intention of ending his life his most intimate friends cannot believe, and all the facts surrounding the case would seem to strengthen their convictions. We have taken considerable pains to trace the many popular rumors to their sources which ascribe a sufficient cause for such an act by a man of his temperament, and we find them to be utterly without foundation in fact, but all the evidence conclusively proves that the taking of the poison was accidental and not intentional. Those who have aided in giving currency to such painful rumors should at once atone as far as possible for the injury inflicted on the memory of a worthy citizen, and the lacerated feelings of an afflicted family. Mr. Roush was one of our most enterprising business men, a kind and loving husband and father. His genial countenance will be sadly missed in this community.
