H. Smith, of that place, at 6.10 o'clock yesterday morning. Death was due to the infirmities of advanced age. He was born in Freedom township, August 22, 1838 and spent the greater part of his life in that section of the county. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having served in Company G., Seventy-seventh regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. In addition to the daughter at whose home he died, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Belle Warsing, of this city; Mrs. Edward Beegle, of Newry; Mrs. Calvin Snoberger, of Beaverdale, Pa., and John W. Ruggles, of Pittsburg. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Mary Rupert, of Cross Keys; Mrs. John Thompson and Mrs. John Shade, both of Altoona; Sarah Ruggles, of New York city and George Ruggles, of East Freedom.
