All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Harry Rupe Harry Rupe, 1117 Seventeenth Street, Altoona, retired yard brakeman of the P.R.R., died Wednesday, May 30, 1945, at 11:32 a.m. at the Altoona hospital. He was born in Huntingdon, March 14, 1867, a son of George and Louise (Fester) Rupe. He was first married to Grace Johnston, and later to Mary Armstrong, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Stephen, Altoona; a brother, William, Philipsburg; two step-sons, Joseph R. Armstrong, Altoona, and Richard E. Armstrong, Baltimore; a step-daughter, Mary Lorena Armstrong, Washington, D.C., and four grandchildren. Mr. Rupe was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and the Altar society, of Altoona. He was also a member of the Order of Railway Conductors. He retired from the company in 1937, after 50 years service. Friends will be received at the family home after 7 o'clock tonight. Funeral arrangements have not been learned.
