On Wednesday evening an extra freight train was thrown from the track at Mill Hall, Centre county, by running into a horse which was either walking or lying on the track. The engine was overturned and together with seven cars was badly smashed up. The fireman, Michael Russel, was instantly killed, the lever of the throttle valve running through his body in the overturning of the engine. The engineer was thrown under the wreck and was badly scalded on the back, arms and legs, and under the care of a physician is doing as well as can be expected.
