Russell, aged 52, of 2207 Fourth street, an engineer in the Altoona yard, Pennsylvania railroad, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home at 11.30 o'clock last night. He had been in apparent good health, working Sunday and returning to his home at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. He was born Nov. 1, 1895, in Shirleysburg, a son of William J. and Katie (Dodson) Russell, and married Miss Anna Faughnan. Surviving are his wife, two sons and one daughter, Eugene C., a student at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, John F., of Burlington, N.C., and Virginia, at the home; his mother, in Shirleysburg, and one sister, Mrs. C. J. Hickey of Burlington, N.C. Mr. Russell was a member of the Fairview Methodist church the Eagles, the Disabled Veterans, having been a veteran of World war I, and of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Engineers.
