Rutter, 81, of 404 Maple Avenue, Bellwood, died Tuesday evening, March 18, 2003 at Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital. He was born January 26, 1922 in Fallen Timber, a son of the late Clair P. and Mary Caroline (Foster) Rutter. He married B. Lorraine Miller on June 18, 1943 in Winchester Va. Mr. Rutter is survived by his wife, two sons, Brian F. and wife Kathryn of Altoona, and Mark A. and wife Terri of Frederick, Md., and two daughters, Betsy C. Miller and husband Ren of Hamilton Square, NJ, and Peggy S. Lewis of Altoona. He is also survived by five granddaughters, Sarah, Hannah, and Rebekah Lewis and Elizabeth and Kristen Golia. Also surviving are two brothers, Foster Rutter of Florida and Herbert Rutter of Altoona and a sister Mildred McClinsey of Fallen Timber. Mr. Rutter retired as a financial advisor with Next Financial Group, Altoona in November of 2001. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood where he was a former treasurer and also served on the board of trustees. He was a former president of the Bellwood-Antis High School Band Parents. Mr. Rutter was a member of the Tyrone Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons where he was a past master, he was also a member of the Altoona Consistory. He was a member of the Jaffa Shrine where he was a circus daddy and escorted Bellwood Elementary students to the Jaffa Circus for many years. Mr. Rutter was an accomplished pilot and airplane mechanic. He also enjoyed shooting skeet. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. tonight and from 10-11 a.m. tomorrow at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, where a Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Rupp officiating. Interment will take place at Logan Valley Cemetery in Bellwood.
