SAGER A well-known engineer in the employ of the Altoona Coal and Coke Company, died suddenly at 9 o'clock last evening at his home at Baker's Mines. Heart trouble was the cause of death. He was well known in this city and has numerous relatives here. Altoona Mirror, July 29, 1908 GEORGE J. SAGER Whose death at Baker's Mines was mentioned briefly yesterday, was a son of John and Rebecca Sager, deceased, and was born in Philadelphia on August 9, 1853. He was united in marriage in 1869 to Miss Emma Shaffer of Harrisburg, who survives, with two daughters, Mrs. William McGinnis of Enola and Mrs. Robert Coleman of Baker's Mines. Ten sons preceded him to the grave. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Shoemaker and Mrs. Lewella Runstitler of Pittsburg, and two brothers, John and William Sager of Elkins, W. Va. He was for a period of twenty- seven years employed by the Altoona coal and coke company as a locomotive engineer, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a member of the Methodist church and of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, services to be conducted by his pastor, Rev. Sipes, at the house. Interment will be made in the Baker's Mines cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., July 30, 1908
