Cambria Freeman, Ebensburg, Pa., Friday, January 10, 1908 A Snow Shoveler Killed. As he shoveled snow at the Hump, at the west bound freight yard, in East Hollidaysburg, Dorsey Salyards, aged 51 years, was run down and instantly killed by an engine at 2 a.m. yesterday. His right leg from the hip to the knee was crushed to a pulp. Salyards had been out of employment for some time and Tuesday was lamenting about an unpaid store bill. He secured work later in the railroad yard, going on duty at 10 o'clock that night, and was killed just four hours later. The deceased was unmarried, but resided with his sister. He was a member of the Hollidaysburg lodge of Red Men and of the Hollidaysburg Burial association. The body was placed in charge of Undertaker Thomas B. McFarland to be prepared for burial and was later taken to the home of Mrs. Gorsuch.
