Sapp, a former resident of Altoona, died at the home of his eldest son, G. W. Sapp, of Renovo at 4 o'clock Sunday morning, of general debility incident to old age. His remains were brought to the residence of his son-in-law, G. W. Cruse, of 1108 Third avenue, yesterday morning, from which place the interment will be made. Mr. Sapp was born in Kent county, Delaware, January 12, 1802, and was consequently aged 89 years and 21 days. He was a wheelwright by trade and worked at this occupation for a number of years in Lancaster and Chester counties. In 1822 he was married, the result of this union being thirteen children, six of whom are living. They are: G. W., C. B. and Jesse Sapp, of Renovo; William H. Sapp, of Colorado; Mrs. Elizabeth Faulkrod, of Philadelphia, and Rebecca E., wife of G. W. Cruse, of this city. He is survived by a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 1861 he came to this city from Lancaster and resided here until the latter part of 1879, in which year his wife died. During his residence in this city he was employed by the company. Shortly after the death of his wife he went to Renovo and made his home with his eldest son. He had been in delicate health for years past, and his death was not a surprise to his relatives. The funeral will take place from the residence of his daughter, 1108 Third avenue, at half-past 1 o'clock this afternoon, to proceed to the First United Brethren church, where services will be conducted by Rev. J. N. Munden. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, February 5, 1891
