Brinton Leroy Saylor, son of Samuel and Ida Saylor, died at his parental home, near Yellow Springs, on Thursday at 12.45 p.m. after a week's illness from influenza-pneumonia. He was born Feb. 16, 1900, and besides his parents he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Christian and Mrs. Martha Hearn, of Catharine township, and Anna who is seriously ill at home. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and Sunday school at Yellow Springs, and was a young man of exemplary habits. He was an industrious and progressive young farmer and will be sadly missed in his community. Funeral services will be conducted at his late home by his pastor, Rev. J. M. Rearick, on Sunday at 10 o'clock. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery at Yellow Springs. This family has been sorely afflicted this fall with the dreadful disease influenza. Three weeks ago a daughter, Mrs. Millie Colbert passed away, leaving six orphan children to be cared for by the grandparents, and death in the family today, and several other members in the family dangerously ill make it very trying. Kind friends and neighbors are offering their assistance and extend their sincere sympathy in their sad affliction and bereavement. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, November 16, 1918
