Schirm, Reservoir Drive, Tyrone, died Saturday at 12:40 p.m. at the Tyrone Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in failing health for three months. He was born in Tyrone, May 15, 1901, the son of David S. and Regina Zeilinger Schirm. On July 25, 1946, at West Pittston, he was married to Genevieve Youngkin. He is survived by his wife; one son, David C. Schirm, of State College; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jane) Phillips, Lindenwald, N. J.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Files, Louisville, Ky., and Miss Bertha Schirm, Tyrone, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church; F. and A.M. Lodge 494, Tyrone; Jaffa Shrine Club; and the International Association of Machinists, Lodge 1639. He retired in 1966 from the Pennsylvania Railroad as a machinist at the East Altoona Shops after 47 years service. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, Tyrone, with Pastor Paul J. Kane officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone today from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 - 11 a.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., June 17, 1974, page 2
