WILLIAM A. SCHMIDHAMMER

  Mr. Schmidhammer, 66, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Altoona, died at 
11:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 1992 at his residence.  Mr. Schmidhammer retired as 
field superintendent for Alto Glass, after 22 years' service.
  He was born April 21, 1926, in Bellwood, son of Max J. and Mildred 
(Shultzaberger) Schmidhammer.  He married Mary A. Geer, May 10, 1947.
  Surviving are his wife, five daughters: Maureen Carothers of Orient, Ohio, 
Marilyn Boula, Elizabeth Gunstead and Barbara of St. Petersburg, and Patricia 
Morgan of Hollidaysburg, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Also surviving are a sister and brother: Judith and James in Pennsylvania.
  Mr. Schmidhammer was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. 
Petersburg.
  He was an Army veteran of World War II.  Mr. Schmidhammer was also a member 
of the American Legion, St. Petersburg.
