Harry Schmitt, Son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schmitt, died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence of his parents, 20 Washington avenue, of scarlet fever. Deceased had been ill since Wednesday. His father, Michael Schmitt, is seriously ill at present and may not recover. J. Harry Schmitt was born December 6, 1870, was a plumber by occupation and was in business on Bridge street between Tenth and Eleventh avenues. He was a member of the St. James German Lutheran church and leaves besides his parents the following brothers and sisters: G. Fred, Emile, Dellia, Amos, Flora and Rose. Deceased was an exemplary young man and one who was deservedly popular with a wide circle of friends. The funeral, which will be private, will take place at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning. The services will be conducted by Rev. J. Mueller. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Monday Evening, March 20, 1893
