Geesey, 1319 Fourth street, at 5 o'clock yesterday morning of a complication of diseases. Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Schneider, deceased, was born in Huntingdon and was aged 72 years. He came to this city some forty years ago, secured employment in the Altoona Car shops and was employed by the company until his retirement on September 1, 1916. He was for some years an active member of the Altoona City band but had not been connected with the organization for some years. He was unmarried and is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Dr. Charles and William Schneider, of Williamsport; Miss Rena Schneider, superintendent of the Blair Memorial hospital at Huntingdon; and Fred Schneider, of Minnesota. He is also survived by a half-brother, George, of Iowa, and a half sister, Mrs. Margaret Lythe, of Huntingdon. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at his late home. Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Thursday, January 16, 1919, page 5
