Scott at this place announced the death from paralysis of his only brother, Thomas W. Scott, at his home in Franklin Grove, Ill. At the time of his death he was editor and publisher of the Franklin Reporter. Mr. Scott was born at Charlottesville, Antis township, this county, July 19, 1830, and at death was aged 60 years, 6 months and 27 days. In the early fifties he was associated with Thomas Ward as principal of Mountain academy at Birmingham, where the writer took his lessons and birch under the same roof. He married to Miss Lizzie, daughter of James Dysart, of Eden Hill. Some time before the late war he removed with his family to Franklin Grove, Illinois, where he has resided ever since. Mrs. Robert Stephenson, of Philipsburg, and Mrs. Thomas Fleck, of Tipton, are sisters of the deceased. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, February 17, 1891
