ANNIE SEARDEL At 1.15 o'clock yesterday morning Mrs. Annie Seardel, also known as Mrs. Storm, was found dead in the kitchen of her home. Epilepsy was the cause of her death. Joseph Greiner made the discovery. He called at the house to deliver a pair of shoes he had promised Mrs. Seardel's son. On entering the kitchen he found Mrs. Seardel lying face downward near the door. He summoned several neighbors to his assistance and an examination showed she was dead. She had been dead but a short time, as she had been seen in the yard by neighbors about an hour before. She was subject to epilepsy, and it is supposed she was seized with a spasm, fell to the floor, and being helpless, was unable to raise her face from the floor and smothered to death. Her face was cut and bruised by the fall. Coroner McCartney made and investigation and decided an inquiry unnecessary. The deceased was born August 20, 1851, and had been a resident of Altoona for a number of years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church. She is survived by these children: Mrs. Harmon Schindler, of Millville, and Andrew, Philip and Annie, at home. Also by one sister, Mrs. Mary Black, and one brother, Mr. Andrew Smith, both of Pittsburg. The funeral will take place at 9 o'clock Thursday morning. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery.
