All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ William Seeds, Druggist, Dies Unexpectedly William Hare Seeds, of 3330 Beale avenue, veteran druggist and lifelong resident of the city, died unexpectedly this morning at 1.30 o'clock at his home. He apparently had been in good health, having worked in the pharmacy of the Philadelphia drug store at Broad avenue and Twenty-fourth street up until closing time last night. Mr. Seeds was born in Altoona June 12, 1888, a son of Hugh D. and Anna (Hare) Seeds. He was educated in the city schools. Following his graduation from the pharmacy school of the University of Pittsburgh in 1914, Mr. Seeds worked for several drug companies in Altoona until 1917, when he became affiliated with the Philadelphia Drug Stores company as an employe at the Eleventh street store. In 1932 he managed the Broad avenue store for about five months before being moved to the former store at Twelfth avenue and Sixteenth street, where he remained until the establishment of the Juniata store until this spring, when he returned to Broad avenue. Mr. Seeds was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He held membership in Bellefield lodge 680, Free and Accepted Masons; the Harrisburg consistory and Jaffa Shrine. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Replogle of Altoona, Mrs. George S. Dively of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. David F. Zimmers of San Leandro, Calif. Friends will be received at the Lafferty funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
