Illness Is Fatal to Roaring Spring Woman

  Mrs. Barbara Ellen Sell, wife of Stephen H. Sell of 722 Rockingham 
street, Roaring Spring, and formerly of Altoona, died at 5:30 o'clock 
yesterday morning in the Albright nursing home. She was born at 
Martinsburg, R.D., Jan. 7, 1879, a daughter of David B. and Sarah 
(Hoover) Metzker, and married Mr. Sell May 19, 1898. She was a member 
of the Roaring Spring Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her 
husband, three daughters and four sons, Mrs. Ella Purcell of Altoona, 
Mrs. Geneva Herbert of Norfolk, Va., Chalmer, Emory W. and Mrs. Elsie 
Replogle of Roaring Spring, Irvin R. of Duncansville R.D., and Brice of 
White Marsh, Md.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Five 
children preceded her in death. Friends are being received at the 
Thompson funeral home, Roaring Spring.
