SELL, Of 714 Rockingham Ave., Roaring Spring, died in his home at 12:15 p.m. Friday, July 28, 1972, after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1900, in Roaring Spring, son of Stephen and Ella (Metzker) Sell, and married Mary Etta Houck on June 15, 1928. Surviving are his wife, two children, Thomas C. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Donna Whitman of Philipsburg; six grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Elsie Replogle and Emory of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Ella Purcell of Altoona, Mrs. Genevieve Herbert of Norfolk, Va., and Irvin of Leamersville. Mr. Sell was graduated from Roaring Spring High School and Shippensburg State Teachers College (1923). For 34 years he was a traveling representative for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren and Woodbury Lodge 539, F&AM, Roaring Spring, Altoona Consistory and Jaffa Shrine, and a charter member and past president of the Chimney Rocks Beagle Club. Friends will be received in the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, July 29, 1972
