She was born January 27, 1882, in Plum Creek, the daughter of Albert and Christiana (Shiffler) Smith. She was married to William A. Shade September 20, 1924, who died May 23, 1952. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Hollidaysburg and the Dorcas Sunday School class. She leaves four brothers and one sister, Andrew E. of Alexandria; Samuel of Duncansville; Luther and Thomas, both of Hollidaysburg; and Mrs. George Robison at whose home she died; seven step-children: Mrs. Zualla Moyer and Kenneth L. Shade of York; Chalmer E. Shade of Altoona; Mrs. Martha Harpster of Bellwood; Mrs. Mildred Shaffer of Tyrone; Mrs. Nellie Weller of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina, and Mrs. Helen Long of New Paris. Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Creamer and Plank Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, Pa. in charge of the Reverend E. N. Bauer. Interment in Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
