SHAFFER Of 1353 Blair Ave., Tyrone, was found dead on arrival at 1 p.m. yesterday at Tyrone Hospital. He was born Oct. 13 1898, in Antis Township, a son of Abraham and Susan E. (Nearhoff) Shaffer, and married Florence Lytle at Tyrone on Nov. 12, 1919. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Roberts of Erie; three grandchildren and a brother and sister, Clarence and Mrs. Eva Brophey of Bellwood. Mr. Shaffer was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and Golden Age club, Tyrone and retired men's units 4 and 6, Altoona. He retired as a tender repairman for the P.R.R. in 1958 after 37 years of service. Friends will be received in the Johnson Funeral Home, Tyrone, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
