Mrs. Anna Leta Shaffer, widow of Arthur C. Shaffer of 1300 Seventh avenue, Juniata, who died on Friday, died yesterday morning after a brief illness from pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. The husband was to have been buried yesterday afternoon but, on account of the death of the wife, both will be buried this afternoon. Mrs. Shaffer was born at Mifflin on Jan. 18, 1891, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kiser. The mother died two months ago. She is survived by her father and a little daughter, Miss Ruth, aged 6 years, is seriously ill at the present time suffering with influenza. She is survived by one brother, George P. Kiser, a soldier in the United States army, located at Camp Perry, Ill., and the following sisters: Mrs. J. F. Wagner of Altoona, Mrs. Charles Shoop of Juniata, Mrs. Chester Dillon of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of the Juniata Methodist Episcopal church and the Ladies Auxiliary, B. of R. T. The double funeral will be conducted at the home this afternoon at 4 o'clock in charge of Rev. J. K. Knisely, pastor of the Fifteenth street Methodist Episcopal church, Juniata and the husband and wife will be laid away in one grave in Greenwood cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the only surviving member of the family, Miss Ruth, who is confined to her room, suffering from influenza.
