Shaffer died yesterday morning at 9:20 o'clock at his home, 1300 Seventh avenue Juniata, of pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. He was born June 5, thirty years ago, near Bedford, the son of Adam and Adessa Shaffer. On June 21, 1911, he was married in Cumberland, Md., to Miss Anna Aleta Kiser, of Altoona, who survives with one daughter, Anna Ruth, the parents of near Bedford, one brother, Robert, at home, and the following sisters: Mrs. Samuel Hogland, Mrs. Samuel Carney and Mrs. Charles Brightbill, all of Bedford. Mr. Shaffer was a member of United lodge No. 174, B. of R.T., and was a member of the Middle Division band. Private funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 4:30, followed by interment in Greenwood cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, October 19, 1918
