W. L. Schneider, died at the home of his sisters, Mrs. S. E. Benn and Miss Clara Sharp on South Lincoln avenue at 1.15 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of six weeks, as the result of a paralytic stroke, presumably brought on by overwork. He was the son of Fleming and Elizabeth Sharp and was born at Colerain Forge, March 19, 1849. He moved with his family to Tyrone Forges in 1869. He followed railroading many years of his life, but for a few years was a forgeman at the plant of Tyrone Iron company and later at the Steelton iron works. Again taking up railroading he served as brakeman on the Pittsburg division with the crew on which his brother Miles Sharp, at present a Tyrone division conductor, had charge. For several years also he fired for his brother John, now of McKeesport, on the Philadelphia and Erie road. Although not actually connected with any church his religion was that of the Methodist Episcopal, and he lived a consistent Christian life and spent his last few days in earnest prayer. He was unmarried. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: John, of McKeesport; Walter, of Lock Haven; Miles, of Tyrone; Mrs. S. E. Benn and Miss Clara Sharp, at the late home. Funeral services will be held at the late home this morning at 11 o'clock in charge of Rev. G. M. Glenn, pastor of First Methodist Episcopal church. Interment in Grand View cemetery.
