SHAW Mrs. Shaw, 97, of Blair Christian Home, Duncansville, formerly of Eleventh Street Tower, died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 1991, at Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness. Mrs. Shaw had been employed in the office of the Juniata Shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad and had taught school in Logan Township for two years. She was born April 21, 1894, in Altoona, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Jane (Graybill) Hanley, and April 21, 1920, in Tyrone, married Ralph Shaw, who died in April 1947. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Butler of Philipsburg, five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shaw was a member of First Church of the Brethren, where she was a member and teacher of Gleaners Sunday School Class for 60 years and secretary of the Missionary Society. She served as a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Mrs. Shaw was the last member of 1912 graduating class of Altoona High School. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home. SHAW - Services for Alma A. Shaw of Blair Christian Home, Duncansville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Daniel r. Myers Funeral Home, by the Rev. Frank Oessenich. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Bailey, in 1972. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., December 3, 1991
