Shaw Sr., 81, 1141 Sixth Ave., Duncansville, formerly of Hollidaysburg, died Thursday evening, Nov. 30, 2000, at Altoona Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Altoona, son of the late Ira and Grace (Martz) Shaw. He married Audrie R. Mentzer Sept. 12, 1941, in Cumberland, Md. She died July 4, 1983. Mr. Shaw was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg. He retired from SKF Inc., Altoona, in November 1983 as a machining inspector with 20 years of service, and also was a barber in Gaysport for many years. Mr. Shaw was a 1938 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Shaw was a member of Hollidaysburg American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bellwood; Newburg Fire Association, Altoona; Jaffa Temple, Juniata Lodge of F&AM, Altoona Consistory, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3 Surviving are a son, Tommy D. of Revloc, Pa.; a daughter, Tammie Ann Reffner of West Loop; a brother, Clyde of Clinton, Ohio; a sister, Hilda Hauser of Duncansville; three grandchildren: Dawn Marie Montano of Lebanon, Pa., Erin Diehl of West Loop and Rob Reffner of West Loop; and one great-granddaughter, Katana Montano of Lebanon, Pa. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Jr., who died Oct. 25, 1972; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Hazel Boop. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Plank Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. Dr. D.L. Brinton Shafer. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
